Men and women who have recently undergone a dramatic weight loss, women who’ve had multiple pregnancies, as well as people who have a difficult time losing weight in their mid-section may be good candidates for Abdominoplasty.
Abdominoplasty, also known as Tummy Tuck, is a procedure in which the excess skin and fat in the mid-section is removed and the muscles of the abdomen are tightened. When the muscles of the abdomen become loose or separated, the abdomen sticks out, but once they have been sutured closer together, the abdomen lies flat. The remaining skin is then closed over the newly flattened abdominal muscles to create a more contoured, flattering mid-section.
Often Abdominoplasty may be done in conjunction with other procedures such as Liposuction, Breast Lift, or Thigh Lift. If you are ready to discuss your options for a more finely contoured waist, contact our office to schedule your confidential consultation.
Many people who eat well and exercise still have disproportionate figures wherein one area is larger than the rest. Why is this? It is due to localized fat deposits, the positions of which are likely determined by genetics. For these people no amount of diet and exercise may be enough to slim that area down the size they desire in order to be in proportion with the rest of their body. Liposuction is a great procedure for those who are in good health and in otherwise good physical condition, for the exception of a localized area.
The way liposuction works is that several small incision points are made a long, skinny tube literally sucks out the fat deposits to slim and reshape that area into a more desirable form. Liposuction recovery varies from patient to patient, though all are asked to wear a compression garment for 3-4 weeks to help reduce swelling to provide extra support while you heal. Most patients are back to most of their usual daily routine in about 2 weeks time and can exert themselves fully by about 4 weeks time. Liposuction is very often done in conjunction with other body contouring procedures such as tummy tucks, arm lifts, thigh lifts or breast augmentation.

An Arm Lift can help people who have a significant amount of excess, sagging skin leftover from dramatic weight loss through both tradition methods of diet and exercise or bariatric surgery. Many people who lose a lot of weight must deal with excess skin and body contouring procedures, such as an Arm Lift, or Brachioplasty, can help these people achieve the results they desire. Oftentimes an arm lift may be coupled with other body contouring procedures such as a tummy tuck, breast lift, or thigh lift.

Mommy Makeovers are ??a fairly new trend that is quickly gaining popularity around the world. Having children, for many women, is considered one of the greatest joys in life, but the after effects of pregnancy and breast feeding are often not. Child rearing can alter the shape of a woman’s body in ways that cannot always be improved through diet and exercise alone. Sagging or deflated breasts, and loose, extra skin are common complaints for many Moms. So, when diet and exercise fail to bring back the pre-baby body, many women turn to Mommy Makeovers to get back the figures and confidence they once enjoyed.
A Mommy Makeover is a highly individualized procedure that may consist of just one or any number of procedure combinations including, but not limited to:
*Breast Augmentation
*Breast Lift
*Tummy Tuck
*Liposuction
Butt Lift
Arm Lift
Thigh Lift
Neck Lift
Face Lift
(*most commonly combined Mommy Makeover procedures)

Every year hundreds of thousands of women in the United States alone undergo Breast Augmentation to increase the size of their breasts, this is common knowledge, but what of the women who are born with naturally, unproportionately large breasts or simply unproportionately sized breasts? Many people do not realize the physical and emotional strain this can cause. For women with exceptionally large breasts, chronic neck, back and shoulder pain often persists. Simple things like exercise, shopping and even sleeping can become difficult due to pain, trouble breathing and an inability to find clothes which properly fit and flatter without causing them to look much heavier than they are. In addition, emotional strains are often placed on those with larger breasts and women with uneven breasts can cause them to feel self-conscious in social situations. Breast Reduction and Revision surgery has helped countless women every year alleviate these ailments.

Women born with large breasts, out of proportion to the rest of their body, often suffer from chronic back and neck pain. The pressure of bra straps can often cause painful indentations in the shoulders and basic things like sleep and exercise can be restricted due to discomfort, pain, and difficulties breathing.
In addition, women with large breasts are at increased risk for infections and rashes developing in the skin folds under their breasts. The physical pain caused by large breasts is just a part of the strain of having overly large breasts, many women feel self-conscious of their large breasts and suffer emotionally as well. It can restrict clothing options and cause otherwise thin women to feel as though they look heavier than they are. Women who feel uncomfortable in their bodies due to over-developed breasts can be alleviated from the physical and emotional strain they suffer through a Breast Reduction Surgery.
Women who are considering undergoing breast augmentation surgery must be sure to learn of all that is involved with their procedure. Along with choosing the most appropriate incision site, breast implant type, and implant location, it is important to learn of the anesthesia used for this type of surgery. The two most common types include general anesthesia and local anesthesia.
General anesthesia means that the patient will be completely asleep throughout the entire procedure. She will not feel anything or remember the surgery when she wakes up. When using this type of sedation, I am able to work with less stress knowing that there is a qualified and well-trained anesthesiologist monitoring the patient. The anesthesiologist can maintain the proper dose for the duration of the procedure and there is no need to rush. Without needing to worry about the anesthesia, I can concentrate on providing the most natural-looking results to my patients.
In addition, General anesthesia allows for the patient’s body to be relaxed, which means that the muscles are not stiff, rigid, or difficult to work with when placing the implants in the breasts. Although there are risks involved when undergoing surgery with general anesthesia, these can be prevented when under the care of a qualified team.
When using local sedation, the patient is put into a “twilight” sleep where they are numbed in the area to be treated (the breasts) and given a sedative to relax. Patients will not feel any pain with local anesthesia, but may feel other sensations such as pulling and pressure. However, because the anesthesia is injected into the target area, the time allotted for the procedure is somewhat limited. I am fully dedicated to patient safety and must ensure that the patient is comfortable at all times, which is why it is important that every step of the procedure is well-planned ahead of time.
Further information regarding your options in the types of anesthesia available can be discussed during an initial consultation at my Inland Empire practice. It is my goal to help you fully understand the differences and benefits of the two choices. An educated patients is typically more satisfied with her results as she is aware of the steps taken to ensure a safe and satisfying surgery.
